"Nick has monitored me, since 2016 and it is no coincidence that last year was by far my most successful season to date. Nick is meticulous in his preparation, treating each horse individually. He helps 'arm' me with tools and exercises to continue our training at home and is happy, when necessary, to push me out of my comfort zone but ultimately he likes to keep things simple. His holistic approach has given me the confidence and inner belief to prepare well at home and ride the same at competitions. I have benefited from his vast experience not only in training but through planning and implementation. He works inclusively with my other World Class coaches and is a fundamental part of my successful team."

"In my capacity as Team Psychologist to the Irish Senior Eventing team, in the lead up to the Rio Olympics in 2016 I worked closely with Nick Turner who was High Performance Manager. Right from the start I found Nick to be approachable, open-minded, team orientated, forward thinking and organised in his approach. He was ambitious for the team, had clear goals for performance and a clear strategy for bringing that to fruition. Nick gathered the best support team around himself and the riders and he used the expertise of that team without ego or agenda, being only interested in doing what was best for the team. Nick drove things to ensure that the team was cohesive both socially and in terms of the job at hand and there was a unified atmosphere in camp. I saw people work for each other as well as for themselves and Nick's leadership set the tone for this. As with any elite sports performance endeavour, there were times of extreme stress and pressure in this campaign and I found Nick to be calm, composed and clear in his handling of such times. It was genuinely a pleasure to work with Nick and I would welcome it if our paths cross in this way again in the future".
Niamh Fitzpatrick Psychologist Irish Olympic Eventing Team Rio 2016
"Nick Turner was the High Performance Manager of the Irish Senior Eventing Team leading the structure set up by Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) from 2013 to 2016 (the Olympic cycle). During that time he prepared the team for the World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France in 2014 where they qualified for the Olympics and also for the Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. On an ongoing basis he supported the riders with their individual development and competition plans. His contract ended after Rio and the position was not re-advertised for the next Olympic cycle until early 2017 due to financial constraints. As Chair of the Irish Eventing High Performance Committee from 2008 until 2017 I had oversight of Nick’s performance. Nick is a very professional, knowledgeable coach and manager with a personality that is able to deal effectively with the wide range of individuals that his role demanded. His planning, organisational and administration skills were a great asset to the high performance programme. He worked extremely well with his advisors, the HP committee, the Horse Sport Ireland administration and the specialist jumping and dressage coaches. He has left a squad of riders that his successor can continue to improve. I would be happy to recommend Nick for any similar role to the one that he had with Horse Sport Ireland, though I believe that he would be quite capable of filling a much wider range of positions successfully."
